The Butler County Sports Hall of Fame began in 1966 when a group of local business men decided to have a going away dinner for a local baseball official who was going to umpire for Major League Baseball. HIs name was Eddie Vargo. Eddie went on to have a long time major league career From that small farewell dinner the Butler Area Spots Hall of Fame was created. Over the years numerous athletes have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Changes made over the years include changing the name to the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame. Also increasing the number of athletes being inducted annually, and in different era's and also adding a Team Recognition Award starting in 2010. Banquet Change Date
The 2020 Hall of Fame is being moved to April 24th,2021. It will be held at the Days Inn in Butler, PA on Saturday April 24th, 2021 at 6PM.
Any current ticket holders can hold on to their tickets for the banquet next April 24th, or contact us to arrange a refund of tickets you have purchased.
