The Butler County Sports Hall of Fame began in 1966 when a group of local business men decided to have a going away dinner for a local baseball official who was going to umpire for Major League Baseball. HIs name was Eddie Vargo. Eddie went on to have a long time major league career From that small farewell dinner the Butler Area Spots Hall of Fame was created. Over the years numerous athletes have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Changes made over the years include changing the name to the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame. Also increasing the number of athletes being inducted annually, and in different era's and also adding a Team Recognition Award starting in 2010. 2022 HOF Information
The HOF Banquest is set for Saturday September 24th at the Lyndora American Legion Hall.
Welcome to the new Butler County Sports Hall of Fame - Butler PA.
Attention: The 2022 HOF Banquet is scheduled for Saturday September 24th, 2022 at The Lyndora American Legion Hall.
The banquet will get underway at 6PM.
